About me
For more than three decades, I've worked as a professional communicator in corporate, marketing and health care communications departments and also as a communications consultant for more than a decade. In 2010, my career expanded to include public speaker and connection catalyst after I spoke at a large women's leadership event on curbing Christmas chaos and why spending time with friends and family brings us joy. I earned a certificate in Happiness Studies a few years later and launched my blog and website, Living Happily Connected, that same year. I published my first book, Withering to Flourishing, in 2020 and my latest, Your Social Connection Guidebook in 2024, which captures all my best research and tips collected over the years.
I'm on a mission to ignite the lost art of having real, face-to-face connections with others and teach people the communications skills help to combat the current loneliness epidemic.

What I do today
Through speaking, blogging, creating connection resources, and sharing videos on social media platforms, I want people to rethink the way they connect and communicate. I combine my real-life experience as a mom and wife, research, inspiration from other cultures and the media and present them in a way that is easily digestible so people can apply immediately.
My husband Brian Knebel and I have been living happily connected the past 30 years and are the proud parents to two adult daughters who both work in the mental health industry. Brian supports my business in the areas of marketing and business development.
